Morning Announcements HELP!!!

Hello!!! I am in need of your help.

We have been trying to get our announcements to be more thought provoking and interesting instead of the same old...same old.

Safety Tips for Pups During the Holidays

I know things get hectic during the holidays with everything.
Remember your precious four pawed family members. Holiday time is stressful for them to.
Remember these tips. :)

First I have to share my fur babies.
Vader is a puppy we are raising for Canine Companions for Independence.

We just turned him in for Professional Training in November. We miss him so much, but we know that he is going to do great things for someone. :)

This is Rosie and Gloria. Two spoiled-rotten babes. We just love them!

It's a Common Core Holiday HUGE UPDATE!!!

The biggest change is that I have changed it from just Christmas to December holidays.
The other big change is the pages are black and white for easier printing.

Shhhhh....Can I tell you a secret?

Did you know that I have a song for almost every month of the year?

AND THEY'RE FREEEEEEEEEE!

I worked with some good friends to create some songs that your kiddos will remember.
They are sung to the tunes of songs we all know and love.

Each song has the spelling of each month.

I will start with September and go from there since that's when we start school.

This is sung to the tune of the Itsy Bitsy Spider.

20 Things You May or May Not Know About Me

I thought I would let you get to know me a little.

1. I love to run.
Crazy running events like Ragnar Relay Races.
Next year I will be running my 10th Ragnar race.

Number Trains for Your Classroom and Giveaway

Our Math Specialist was pushing-in the other day.
We were working on Rocket Math Numeral Writing.

I was looking around the room to give some of my firsties a visual of what they could look for when writing their numbers. I noticed that their number lines on their desks did not have the guiding lines to help them form their numbers. I have several letter trains up that have the lines for them, but no numbers.

I looked at my friend and asked her if she had any.  She said she would look. Well, I got home and I decided to work on some myself. I talked to my first grade team mates and we decided what was needed on the train.

We decided on:

Numbers with guide lines
Ten Frames
Tally Marks
and
The Number Word

Now through Friday, December 8, you have a chance to win your choice of a number line and an item of your choice in my store. Enter the raffleopter below.

Not Teaching Related, but I am writing about it nevertheless.

Marine Corps Marathon

Let's go back to the beginning of the year in March when the lottery opened.
I put my name in. Why not? If I got in...I got in. If I didn't...I didn't.
Well, I didn't! I was relieved. Really. A marathon was not on my bucket list. I had surgery in 2010 on my back. Who does a marathon after back surgery?
